Lady’s Island, SC – Celadon Club Wellness Center is now open and accepting a limited number of members from the general public, in addition to serving residents of Celadon community, who have full access via home ownership.
The state-of-the-art facility offers almost 6,000 square feet of indoor space. The primary workout room contains high-end training equipment, such as an easily-accessible fitness circuit, a rowing machine, and a UBE machine (upper body ergometer). The separate, semi-private strength training room contains a “Vortex” functional trainer machine, with fourteen different pulley systems and a pull-up bar. The strength training room also contains kettle bells, medicine balls, and a smith machine. There is a group training room for fitness, yoga, and other classes.
Outdoors, Celadon Club Wellness Center offers a Jr. Olympic pool (for lap swim, water aerobics, or just relaxation), a hot tub, bocce ball court, tennis court, and a gas fireplace in a lovely courtyard setting. (The beautiful venue will be available in the near future for special events, including wedding receptions.)
Male and female locker rooms contain steam baths, which use wet heat and special oils to help relaxation and rejuvenation post-workout.
The cozy Members Lounge contains fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, and a poker table, while an upstairs nook houses a computer lab and take-one-leave-one library with complimentary tea, coffee, and water. There is free wi-fi throughout the complex.
Wellness Center Director Amber Reynolds boasts an impressive list of credentials, including personal trainer accreditation from both the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She’s earned NASM certificates in Corrective Exercise, for those returning to the gym post-injury, and Senior Fitness, for those in the “Baby Boomer” age group and older. She is also NASM certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist. Reynolds certificates and experience include multiple types of fitness classes, such as mat Pilates, cardio kickboxing, interval training, Ballet Barre, and boot camp/HIIT.
Reynolds believes that in addition to the impressive facility, “Celadon Club stands out because of the concierge level service we offer our members. We’re here to help out, make a difference, and build personal relationships with each member.”
Celadon Club has ongoing support from Doug Weary of Active Private Country Club, Inc., who helped create some of the best private community wellness programs in the area, including Berkeley Hall, Belfair, Hampton Lake, and Moss Creek. Weary has worked as the exclusive trainer for top athletes, such as Jack Nicklaus and Lee Janzen. He specializes in physical therapy and strength conditioning, and has a goal to give personal care and enhance the “life experience” of each client.
That’s evident at Celadon where each new Club member receives a personalized machine orientation and other customized guidance, all kept in their private folder. New members can book a complimentary health assessment that guages overall current health, posture, stress levels, strength, flexibility, and health history. After the health assessment, members receive ongoing assistance crafting a wellness plan of action based on their individual goals.
The attached full-service spa will open in May, aligned with a Grand Opening event at Celadon. Celadon Club Spa will be open to the public. Members will receive special pricing on the wide array of luxury services.
